About Bot Tamers

Bot Tamers is an AI literacy course for kids ages 8 to 12, made by the Bot Tamers team.

What Bot Tamers is

On both tracks, kids learn how to check an AI answer, and what never to share with an app.

Bit, the robot in the lessons, is scripted. It is not a live chatbot, and nothing is sent to an AI company.

Kids do Bot Tamers lessons on our website, on a computer, iPad or phone. The iOS app is coming very soon.

Who it's for

Kids ages 8 to 12, in two tracks, and the parents who set them up.

Accounts are for parents only. Kids never get their own login or email; a parent sets up each child's profile.

Up to five child profiles on one account.

How the lessons work

Ages 8 to 10 have 7 lessons, at about 10 minutes a lesson, with read-aloud. Ages 11 to 12 have 7 units plus a final project.

On the 11 to 12 track, kids play a chatbot guessing the next word and see it give a confident, false answer (Unit 3), and spot a made-up study in an AI written report (Unit 4).

You can see units done, a progress bar and the skills your child has shown. The parent dashboard shows a short summary of each finished lesson with a question to ask at dinner.

We also write sourced guides for parents about kids and AI.
